Ink, spray paint, and tea on Fabriano paper

Works on paper exploring the interplay between positive and negative space. While positive space is defined by the elements that occupies it, negative space constitutes whatever lies in–between. It is, however, not to be understood as a lifeless void: though lacking in physical objects, negative space is nevertheless abound with non-physical matter. It is rich in imaginative potential and imagination and connotes a silence in which one is granted room to encounter and re-examine oneself. These drawings are interested in the interplay between these two kinds of space—the one that sees, and the one that feels—and is aiming towards an equalisation of the two wherein they can exist in a non-hierarchical, harmonious relationship.
